Day 3
Day 3 interventions will depend on the intensity of the event and the timing of the event during the week. Take the time to properly assess the situation.
If the event occurred on a Thursday, Day 3 and Day 4 actions may be added to Day 5 on Monday.
Emergency Committee meeting
At this time, carefully analyze what is happening in the school. Do not rush to the end of the intervention period. Maintaining the protocol in place does not mean that you are delaying the return to normal. Rather, it shows kindness and respect, and it preempts future negative consequences. If many students are still in the grips of strong emotions, the school should continue offering support. If only those closely related to the deceased person are still reacting, consider offering targeted interventions for them.
It is now time to reflect on a collective commemoration activity. Examples include balloon flights, a minute of silence, messages in the form of paper planes, contemplation near the commemoration site, etc.
Assessment
At the end of the day, take the time to assess the steps and emotions in order to adjust for the following days.
